Combatting Climate Change
Our concern for the trajectory of the climate had been growing in recent years, with the breaking point for us being the alarming IPCC 2021 report. This report stated beyond any doubt the urgency of the situation surrounding our climate. Confronted by the overwhelming scientific consensus, we could not sit by and watch as the world around us headed straight for disaster.
The IPCC report was clear: drastic changes must be made now if we hope to succeed in limiting global temperature increases. Despite the immediacy of the problem, we saw no real effort being made to hold the global economy accountable for its carbon footprint. Much of the damage done to our environment is irreversible, but if we act swiftly and decisively then we have the power to prevent the worst which is still to come.

Every day, around 30 million tonnes of goods are shipped across the globe, with no standards currently in place requiring businesses to make carbon-efficient decisions.
Creating these standards and making these businesses take responsibility for their carbon footprint is why Think Carbon exists. It is our goal to make it as easy as possible for businesses to make environmentally conscious decisions when moving their products. Goods will always need to be shipped, but we can do so in a way that does not cause unnecessary harm to the planet.
This is no longer just a matter of protecting future generations, but one of protecting ourselves as well. Climate change is not something that will happen, it is happening right now; it is already affecting many regions around the world and will continue to worsen over the years and decades to come unless enough of us commit to change now.
